Heavy Weight Shootout: Allen vs. Gordon Round 2

Despite a stellar performance from Chicago Bulls star Ben Gordon who poured in 42 points, it just was not meant to be tonight as the Boston Celtics walk away with a 118-115 victory. Boston's Ray Allen extended over Bull's Forward Joakim Noah to sink the winning 3-pointer with only seconds to play. That shot sealed the victory for the Celtics as the series is now tied at 1 game apiece.

The Bulls were able to steal game on the Celtics home floor due in part to the absence of star center, Kevin Garnett and a lack luster performance from Ray Allen. Ben Gordon's heroics were enough to put game one away in the victory column but game two was to go to the home team. The series now moves to Chicago for games 3 & 4 in the best of 7 series.

The Emperor (ok Detroit Lions) Has New Clothes?

In an attempt to right the wrongs of their past, the NFL Detroit Lions announced today that they have redesigned their team logo and uniform. The Lion's color scheme remains the same but a fresher, cleaner, more modern look was unveiled as the team logo. As they try to rebound from a dismal and record setting 0-16 record last season, the Lions appear to be approaching this off-season with the mind-set of "out with the old, in with the new".

Coming from the bottom of the pile, Detroit really has nowhere to go but up as they begin their preparation for the 2009 season. Who knows, perhaps a uniform change could be just what the Dr ordered to motivate the team.
